The assured delivery of training has been a core part of the Optima offering since our inception. Our track record stretches globally and we have the capability and experience of delivering training across the full spectrum of explosive threat mitigation. Our customers to date include military and non-governmental organisations, civilian agencies, police forces, national and multinational institutions.
We know from experience that it is the understanding and skill-set of people that forms the most important aspect of any threat mitigation capability. We aim to ensure that the people we train are best prepared to meet any explosive threat relative to their environment. We place the highest value on current, accurate knowledge of any local security situation. Our instructors are all validated regularly, accredited by leading national and international institutions, and can deploy globally, rapidly to mitigate explosive hazards.
Optima applies a systems approach to training, developing each solution to meet a client’s individual needs. This process is continuously re-evaluated to incorporate the most recent threat information and intelligence reports to give our clients the means to mitigate current and future threats. Creating modular and scalable solutions prior to any deployment, training can also be enhanced with mentoring to develop experience along with ‘Train the Trainer’ programmes that build sustainable capacity. We constantly adapt and learn from our global operations to ensure our methods are current and forward thinking. This includes the use of synthetic, often state-of-the art technologies to ensure we deliver the most appropriate training medium for our clients.
Optima has made a considerable investment to generate the capacity to deliver multiple, concurrent training programmes globally. Reaching across military, police and civilian sectors, our specialist database of over 3,000 qualified trainers can be called on as required to use their experience to deliver training projects globally.
Reputation and Credibility
Optima has been at the heart of developing capabilities to support IED threat mitigation since 2009 and was the first contractor to deliver C-IED and Search training to British front line soldiers both prior to deployment and on operations. Many of our staff, both ex-military and police, have held senior positions in nationally and internationally recognised training institutions and have vast experience of conducting Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Counter-IED operations. In 2013 Optima was recognised at the Counter Terror Expo with the award for ‘Best C-IED Initiative and Most Successful Deployment’, and in 2014 Optima was selected to present to the Meeting of Experts of the High Contracting Parties to Amended Protocol II to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) Treaty at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.
